Defined by the American Telemedicine Associaiton as the use of medical information exhanged from one site to another via electronic communications for the health and education of the patient or health care provider and for the purpose of improving and extending the availability of patient care, this advance in technology is far reaching and has vast capabilities to span between cities, communities, and even countries.
