The Department of Biostatistics is part of the School of Public Health at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), located on the Piscataway/New Brunswick campus of UMDNJ. The UMDNJ - School of Public Health is sponsored by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in cooperation with Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and New Jersey Institute of Technology in collaboration with the Public Health Research Institute.

This fast growing department conducts independent statistical research with applications in the biomedical sciences and services public health professionals. All department faculty actively collaborate with biomedical, public health, and other investigators within the School of Public Health at UMDNJ, The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences at New Jersey and elsewhere. Biostatistics students participate in these collaborations as well. Our department includes both students who have just completed their undergraduate degrees as well as fulltime professionals looking to advance their education by obtaining an additional or higher level degree. Dual majors with departments such as Epidemiology are available.
